| Z is
for Zero No Claims Bonus
You may have a "Zero No
Claims Bonus" if you are an ex-company car driver or a named driver
on someone else's policy but some insurers like Direct
Line will offer a no claims discount under certain conditions.
A typical condition for named
drivers earning a no claims bonus could be that the offer is only available
to named drivers taking out a new policy within the same company.
If you make a claim deemed
to be your fault most insurers will typicaly deduct 2 years of no claims,
so if you had 5 years no claims discount it will be reduced to 3 years
no claims discout. Below
is the typical discount offered by car insurance companies for no claims;
- 1 year no claims - 30%
discount
- 2 years no claims - 40%
discount
- 3 years no claims bonus
- 50% discount
- 4 years no claims bonus
- 60% discount
- 5 years or more no claims
bonus - 65-75% discount
