X is for Category
X Salvage
All damaged cars are given
a category by insurance companies and as a rule of thumb category's
A and B are used for parts, categories C and D are for repairs and category
X can be driven off and usually a good bargain.
- Category A - written-off
car which must be completely destroyed, cannot be dismantling into
its parts .
- Category B - written-off
car where it's parts may be reused, however the body shell cannot
be reused and must be destroyed.
- Category C - car
is repairable but cost of the repair may not be economical.
- Category D - car
may be repaired and sold with a profit.
- Category X - minor
damage to car, can easily be repaired.
