W is for Woman Car Insurance and Gender Equality

Cheaper car insurance for women drivers will no longer allowed under a new "gender equality" ruling so pay as you drive insurance will be the only legal way that young female drivers can get cheaper car insurance.

The biggest change will be seen with young driver insurance where young female car insurance used to much cheaper than young male car insurance, as drivers got older the difference reduced and evened out.

Young woman drivers can still benefit from cheaper car insurance if they drive well, so too can careful male drivers if they opt for pay as you drive car insurance and agree to have a tracking system monitor their driving habits and times. If you drive well, with a low mileage and avoid driving in high risk times you start paying from 1p per mile. Older women or high mileage drivers may find normal car insurance cheaper to take out.
