for Jacking - Carjacking Insurance
Car insurance companies and
the Police advise on handing over your keys to a car highjacker rather
than standing up to the thieves as most insurers are sympathetic and
will not impose any restrictions on the claim.
If you are concerned about
carjacking it might be worth considering a policy from ABC
insurance to cover any extra expenses as less than 1 in 10 car insurance
policies cover road rage or carjacking.
The current law covers all
three levels of carjacking offenses under the Theft Act 1968 depending
on the degree of violence used. The least serious is TWOC, Taking Without
Owner's Consent and goes up to violent carjacking classified as an aggravated
form of theft and robbery.
Drivers should not be over
concerned with car jacking which originated from South Africa in the
70s and is more prominent in America but if you do own an expensive
car and live in London, Manchester or any other large city it would
be very wise to fit a Thatcham approved GPS tracking system.
