Car jacking can involve using threats or violence to secure the car keys so it is oftern grouped with road rage by insurers. Policies for road rage or car jacking do vary in the cover they provide, for example, some cover for medical expenses and trauma counselling, while others include extras such as dental treatment or cash benefit for each day a policyholder is hospitalised. Typical exclusions may include; assaults by a relative or person known to the insured or it is proven that the road rage had been initiated by the policyholder.
