Women driver UK motor insurance
Women drivers are
a low risk so many UK specialist motor insurance brokers have appeared
but our advice is still to check the main insurers because the benefit
from buying direct may result in cheaper motor insurance for you rather
than using a third party broker.
.
Car insurance rates
are cheaper for women because, statistically, lady drivers are careful
and more safety conscious and also cover a lower mileage. They also have
fewer accidents than men and when accidents occur they usually incur less
damage.
Motor insurance is
so complex and unpredictable that going to specialist women only drivers
motor insurance broker does not always mean that they are cheaper, the
golden rule here is to shop around get quotes from all types of insurers.
Companies like direct line sell direct to the public and may be cheaper
then a broker advertising themselves as an insurer for lady drivers.
Premiums vary between
individuals because they are calculated based upon a large number of criteria,
i.e. the driver's age, experience, driving record, occupation, the type
of vehicle and the insurance group that it fits into, where it is kept,
the uses it is put to and the type of cover required. When buying motor
insurance you must give the insurer full information. Please note that
it is an offence under the Road Traffic Act to make a false statement
or withhold information for the purposes of obtaining a certificate of
motor insurance and it may also invalidate your policy.
The 3 categories
of motor insurance are
- Third Party Only,
covers the policyholder against damage to a third party's property or
to the third party themselves, a Third Party Only policy will pay for
the repair to that other car, and will pay for any medical claims or
injuries suffered by the occupant(s) of that other car and any passengers
in your car other than you. A Third Party Only policy will not pay for
the costs of repairing your own vehicle nor will it pay anything toward
your medical expenses and if your vehicle is stolen or sets on fire,
a Third Party Only policy will not make any payment toward the theft
or repair of the car.
- Third Party Fire
& Theft, exactly the same as the Third Party Only policy, but will also
pay out in the event that your car is stolen or sets on fire.
- Fully Comprehensive,
will pay-out for third party damages and injuries, will pay-out in the
event of your car being stolen or set on fire, and will also pay for
any damage to your own car (regardless of whose fault the accident was).
