New customer discount UK motor
insurance
New customers can
benefit from as discount when they change their UK motor insurance provider.
Competition is so great that insurers are offering cheaper insurance in
the first year to attract new customers which is also good news for new
drivers starting on their first policy.
.
Introductory Discount
are often available to drivers over 23, however, you do need to have some
experience under your belt after passing your test, most insurers look
for a full licence held for at least 12 months.
New customer discount
rates vary from one insurer to another but you can expect to save from
10% to 35% or more. In addition to an introductory discount you can usually
save an extra 10% or more if you buy online.
After the first year
your introductory discount will run out as you are no longer a new customer
however if you have not any claims during that period you will have earn
an extra year of no claims bonus. Our advice would be to shop around again
just to satisfy yourself that there is no one else cheaper out there.
The 3 categories
of motor insurance are
- Third Party Only,
covers the policyholder against damage to a third party's property or
to the third party themselves, a Third Party Only policy will pay for
the repair to that other car, and will pay for any medical claims or
injuries suffered by the occupant(s) of that other car and any passengers
in your car other than you. A Third Party Only policy will not pay for
the costs of repairing your own vehicle nor will it pay anything toward
your medical expenses and if your vehicle is stolen or sets on fire,
a Third Party Only policy will not make any payment toward the theft
or repair of the car.
- Third Party Fire
& Theft, exactly the same as the Third Party Only policy, but will also
pay out in the event that your car is stolen or sets on fire.
- Fully Comprehensive,
will pay-out for third party damages and injuries, will pay-out in the
event of your car being stolen or set on fire, and will also pay for
any damage to your own car (regardless of whose fault the accident was).
